Columbia Motor Speedway’s bump to pass class is intended to be a entry level racing class. Cars are intended to be built and raced on a limited budget to allow novice drivers to gain experience before advancing to a higher class. CMS race director reserves the right to request a BTP driver to move into a higher class at the end of a season if it is determined that driver’s ability has exceeded the intent of this class. This determination is made solely by CMS officials.
The BTP class is open to any driver 16 years of age or older. Anyone entering the pit area under the age of 18 requires a liability waiver signed by their parents.
It is the responsibility of the driver to provide proof that their car is legal. If tech officials suspect a violation, the driver must prove the part in question is in fact within the rules. NOT the other way around. REMEMBER just because these rules don’t say you can’t do doesn’t mean you can. Ask a tech official before you make any modifications.
CMS officials reserve the right to require modifications or weight additions to keep this class competitive. Their decision is final.
