2010 Riverside 150 Rules

Bodies:

A-B-C and 5-Star bodies are the standard at CMS, any others are subject to CMS tech approval and their decision is final.
NO DOWN FORCE BODIES OR PANELS OF ANY SORT ARE ALLOWED!
Must be a stock appearing body and must be mounted per manufacturer's guidelines (see manufacturers rule book).
No flaring, skirting or streamlining allowed.
No belly pan allowed.
Nose width to be a maximum of 1 3/4" outside tires.
Minimum ground clearance of 4" without driver in car.
47" minimum roof height.
Rear spoiler must not exceed 6 1/2" in height and 60" width. To be constructed out of clear Lexan.
2950 lbs minimum weight with driver.
58% Maximum left side weight.

TIRES AND WHEELS:

Any Make 10" racing tire or 11" Goodyear takeoff (11" must be purchased from CMS) will be allowed for this race.

Must Start the Main Event on the same tires that you Qualify on.

There will be a 10 minute break at the completion of lap 75 for fuel and tires.

No soaking or treating tires with any compound altering chemicals.

Steel 10" Racing wheels only.




Frame and Suspension:

Professionally built Nascar style steel roll cage is required. Minimum 1 3/4" x .095 DOM tubing.
All contact areas in the drivers compartment must be covered with high density padding.
Minimum of 40" wide x 17" tall 14 gauge plate must be installed between driver's door skin and roll cage. 14 gauge plate welded between individual door bars is allowed instead of a full plate. Must cover the same 40" x 17" area.
ANY FRAME THAT CMS TECH DEEMS AS TO BE OF POOR WORKMANSHIP OR UNSAFE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE.

Minimum wheelbase of 101"
Big spring cars must have shocks mounted outboard of the coil springs NOT inside the springs.
Adjustable shocks are allowed.  No remote reservoir or remotely adjustable shocks allowed.
One shock per wheel.

Steering Components (drag links, center link, spindles etc..) Must be OEM or fabricated Steel.
Rack and pinion steering allowed with aluminum sleeves.
Independent rear suspension is NOT allowed
One piece trailing arms only. No spring loaded trailing arms.
Multiple 3rd links allowed.
Rear sway bars are NOT permitted.

No shock, spring or suspension adjusting devices allowed in the driver's compartment.
All added weight mus be solid block lead only. No pellets or liquid.
All weight must be painted white and include car number.
Weight shifting devices are not allowed.

Steel racing approved wheels with a 10" maximum mandatory. Any offset allowed.

Tread width maximum for coil over cars is 65 1/2".
Tread width maximum for big spring cars (4 3/4: minimum diameter spring front and rear) is 69"

Firewall & Interior:

Interior of car must be completely enclosed in respect to engine compartment, track surface and wheel wells.

Fuel and Fuel Cells:

Gasoline only. No blended, exotic fuels or fuel additives allowed.
Commercially manufactured fuel cell mandatory. 22 gallon maximum capacity.
Car must have a minimum 22 gauge steel box (14 gauge highly recommended) enclosing the sides and bottom of the fuel cell.
Car must have a fuel cell protector bar at the rear of the cell.
Minimum of 8" of ground clearance to the bottom of the fuel cell.

Engine and Drive train:

Maximum cubic inch is 362 on Mopar, and 360 for GM and Ford engines.
Engine must match body. Ford to Ford, GM to GM etc.

Cast Iron Blocks only.
Aluminum heads are allowed.
Crankshaft center line must be within 1" of the car track width. (measured from a nonadjustable matching point on both sides of car.)

Engine set back of 2" for GM vehicles. 3" for Ford and Mopar. (measured from the most forward spark plug hole to the center line of the upper ball joint.)

Minimum 10" crank center line height.
Dry sump oiling is allowed

Flat Tappet solid Lifters only. NO ROLLER CAMS AND LIFTERS.  Mushroom or radius bottom lifters are NOT allowed.

Distributor type ignition in stock location only. NO MAGNETOS.

No traction controls allowed. CMS reserves the right to exchange any electronic device on the car and substitute a replacement. (tach, ignition box etc..)

Muffler/mufflers required. 4" maximum exhaust diameter

Mechanical fuel pump only. NO electric fuel pumps.
Any single 4 barrel carburetor allowed.

Radiator must be mounted in stock location. Any radiator allowed.
Water is the only allowed engine coolant. water wetter additive is allowed. NO ethylene glycol allowed.

Cars must have a working starting system at all times.

Manual transmissions only. NO automatics. Transmission must have at least 2 working forward gears and must have a working reverse gear.
Minimum 5 1/2" diameter clutch. Multiple disc clutches allowed. Only magnetic steel discs and pressure plates allowed. Must have a SFI approved scattershield.

Drivelines must be steel or aluminum only. NO carbon fiber. Must be painted white. Must have (2) 360 degree driveline hoops mounted with 12 " of the front and rear u-joints.

Rear-ends can be interchanged between manufacturers. Aftermarket and quick change rear-ends allowed. Steel or rubberized drive plates may be used. NO cambered rear-ends.

Safety:

Helmet must be Snell 95 or newer. Must have original Snell sticker. Helmet must not have any visible damage or impact scars.
Commercially manufactured aluminum racing seat with padded headrest required. Rib protectors and leg extensions recommended. Head and neck restraints ARE strongly recommended. (i.e. Hans or Hutchins device)
Minimum 5-point SFI rated racing harness required. Must be a minimum of 3" wide straps and must connect with a quick release latch. Harness must have original manufacturers date tag attached and punched. Harness must not be older than 5 years and cannot show and damage. (sun damage, fraying, cuts etc..)

SFI approved window net with no visible U.V. damage or fraying is required. Must have quick release buckle.

Steering wheel must have a quick release coupler. Center of steering wheel must be padded.

Radios with a spotter located in the designated spotter area are required.

All cars must have a fully charged fire extinguisher mounted within easy reach of the driver. Must be securely mounted. NO duct tape. (A built in Halon or equivalent system is strongly recommended.)
Drivers must wear a SFI approved driver suit. Must cover the body from neck to ankles and to the wrists. Fire rated gloves and shoes are mandatory. Suit must be in good condition (no rips, fraying or damaged closing devices) A multi layer fire resistant clotheing package is highly recommended. (such as Nomex underwear, socks, multi layer suit etc..)

Fire resistant highly visible clothing is recommended for all crew members entering the pit area
Head and eye protection is highly recommended for all pit entrants.

All pits must have a fully charged and functioning 10 lb minimum dry chemical fire extinguisher in view at all times.
